Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports, citing a league source, reports that 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman has been cleared to practice next week and will return at that time.

Ed Werder confirms the report and adds that the 49ers have until Tuesday to start their 21-day evaluation period.

Yes.Three week window to evaluate him. Even if they think he can make an impact the 9ers might still decide to have him sit until next season. He is a 9er for the long term not just for this season.

it would be great to get him back, if only for the added depth, but the way Borland, Wilhoite, and the rest of the D have been playing, i am thinking it may not be a good idea to rush Bowman back if he is not ready. He is still way to valuable in the teams future.

No but Im talking about the business part. Borland gives them flexibility to trade one of them to save money. I don't want to see it I was just stating that we have Depth now.
