Nice, get in on some of those easy bowl wins the Big10 has been enjoying forever.

hmmmm, Florida and Kentucky enjoyed playing the B1G last year in bowl games. Methinks, the SEC has been getting some easy wins.

Nebraska's last four bowls, 1-1 vs SEC and 1-1 vs PAC 12.

Of course, when you go 4-8, you don't go to bowl games.

i might get my wish of Nebraska in the Las Vegas Bowl.

The Las Vegas Bowl tie-in is a solid tie-in. Unfortunately, the match-up is going to be the 3rd or 4th Pac-12 pick vs. the 8th pick or so from either the B1G or the SEC. Pac better win this every year!
based on what information?

from what Ive seen it could be as high as 4th for BIG as well. and likely as high as 5th or 6th for SEC.
in theory last year we could have seen Stanford or Utah vs Northwestern or Wisconsin or Texas A&M or Miss St.

They stated in the article that they expect it to be third or fourth for the PAC but said it's unknown where it will be in pecking order for the BIG and SEC.

They will win every other year.
I see what you are implying here but
it isnt an every other year deal.
just a matter of across 6 games both conferences will send 3 teams each
so in theory we could see SEC, SEC Big, SEC, Big, Big or BIG, BIG, BIG, SEC, SEC, SEC, or anyother combo.

which is why i questioned "the 8th pick"

So in theory the PAC will: Lose, Lose, Win, Lose, Win, Win or Win, Win, Win, Lose, Lose, Lose or any other combo.

Common sense logic. Last year, the SEC has 4 teams in NY6 Bowls: Alabama @ Orange, Georgia @ Sugar, LSU @ Fiesta and Florida @ Peach. Then, the Citrus (Kentucky), the Outback (Miss. State) and the Houston (Vanderbilt) are in the next tier. That's 7 right there.

So, the Las Vegas Bowl would be getting a team from the pool slated for the Gator Bowl, Belk Bowl, Liberty Bowl and Birmingham Bowl. More than likely a 7-5 middle of the pack (7-8 place) team. Even if I am off by a team or two, the SEC will defintely not send one of their top 5 teams to Las Vegas.

No matter how it shakes out, the Pac will be sending a higher seeded team than either the B1G or the SEC simply due to the Bowl alignments of both the B1G and SEC vs. the Pac's Bowl alignments (which are not bvery good). That being said, I like the tie-in (location and with the Pac-12). I think it wil be a solid Bowl Game Event in the new stadium.

PAC12 has gone 1-6 the last two years against the Big10 in bowl games.

Fucking Spartans.

but having the higher seeded team doesn't mean much when it comes to matchups.
thats why G5 teams can beat P5 teams.
thats why Ohio State won the title from a 4 seed without winning the conference.
sometimes a team finishes 3rd or 4th in a conference that can beat the #1 from another but that also doesnt mean that #1 couldnt also have been #1 if they changed conferences.
transitive properties dont translate.

FWIW, this has nothing to do with the transitive property, but I do agree that lower seeded teams from one conference can beat higher seeded teams from other conferences. Will be interesting to see the Las Vegas Bowl matchups play out.

I will be shocked if the B1G or SEC ever send a team to the Las Vegas Bowl with a higher rank, a better record or a better conference seed than their Pac opponent, as the Las Vegas Bowl wil be higher in the Pac pecking order than it will be in the B1G or SEC pecking order.

Ohio State won the B1G the year they won the CFB National Championship in 2014. Stomped Wisconsin (59-0) in the B1G Championship Game. The year they made the Playoff without winning their conference (2016), they lost 0-31 to ACC Champion Clemson in the semis.

With new bowl tie-ins, new pecking orders will probably shape up, too. Outside the team(s) it places in the playoffs, I would expect the SEC's #1 bowl destination to remain the Sugar vs a Big 12 rep; followed by a match-up vs a Big 10 team in one of the premier bowls; the third bowl team would either be in the new Las Vegas Bowl vs a Pac-12 team, or possibly the Peach Bowl vs an ACC team, depending on rankings & bowl rotations. After that, who knows?

Peach is a NY6
Unless LV gets a date change I doubt it will move that high for SEC.

my bad on the Ohio state years.

as for the the other part look at it this way
last year Pac 3 was 9-4 Utah #17 pre bowls
#4 was Stanford 8-4 unranked

could have been playing Texas A&M 8-4 and ranked 19
or 8-4 Iowa
so recotds would have been pretty close
