Bourdon as the #7 Dman is fine with me, he plays like a Flyer, but Gusty is BETTER in the newer NHL, since the lockout ended right.

I don't believe they'll be in the Norris trophy discussion any time soon,so how about letting them improve before deciding on which one is better?

Bourdon is not going to be a "top" defenseman in the NHL. He could well settle into being the "other" defenseman on a 2nd unit that is part of an overall strong team defense. He plays a quiet, good but not great at any facet, game.

Gussy has obvious upsides over Bourdon. He has better acceleration, he is better at handling the puck and is more confident at handling the puck. He is a better passer outside the D zone and has a good/not great shot that has at times "seeing eye" qualities. That said, he too will never be a great top defenseman but could be the "other" player to a rock solid stay at home player. The thing that gets Gussy in this comparison is that he has waiver options available and Bourdon does not. It isn't a matter of his talent/ability...it is the business of can he be sent to the AHL without being lost. Bourdon would have to clear waivers twice. Gussy would not.

Like awaz said, Bourdon was pretty good prior to his concussion and was better than Gusty at one point. Let's see how an offseason will help Bourdon regain the play he had up until his injury. This is a long offseason.

Manning was solid it will be fun to see these boys compete although Bourdon has an advantage short term as he can't be waived. He's probably the more physically ready anyway. Future looks good that's prob why they will sit tight until the trade deadline and I'm cool with that. Unless a nice fwd or D option pops up!

I missed all of this kids games last year, I was in toronto, and went to that Giroux shootout crazy goal 0-0 shootout game. Just happens to be when Bryz went fucking insane with the shutouts.

Next playoffs start I might just go back to Toronto! #Superstitious Retard I am.
