BC has become the first school that has decided not to participate in a bowl game this year because of COVID.

I wonder if this could be a first of many. Players might be tired of the frequent testing and restrictions on activities....and just want to go home.

David Pollack gave a solid explanation for players not wanting to go to bowl games this year. He noted in the past, hat the week leading up to bowl games included dinners, tours and other group activities. They were looked at as rewards for the season.

This year, players were under restrictions what they could do and were virtually locked down the entire season. Any bowl game would be more of the same but the players would be confined to hotel rooms.

He said that many players just want to go home and see their family at Christmas.

Coach David Cutcliffe has also announced that Duke Football will not be accepting a bowl invitation to play this season.
