He's most likely going to be rusty and out of shape. I'm not happy with him right now.

Completely understand that. The holdout could have been avoided, and I suspect the 49ers would have made this deal without the holdout. But at least he is back and he is needed on the oline. Hope they can put it together and Boone has stayed in shape while holding out.

He has kept in shape and the 9ers' playbook for the OL is still the same. He will be fine. I'm not really happy with him either but he is needed.

We were never going to let him go to another team. We found that out when the Niners kept rejecting trade offers. I'm glad to have him back. I assume he's kept himself in good shape, as the last thing you want to do while negotiating for a bigger contract is to get out of shape. He just needs to get back into football shape by practicing in pads and with contact. I think he'll be ready soon.

6 million over the next 2 years instead of 3.9 million according to CBS.

I ask again GoreRush, why are you using a picture of another guy who used to post here as your avatar?

I would guess he is one and the same.

I would expect that he has an All-Pro Season and we win the SuperBowl! That would shore up our line issues and strong competition at lg and c!!

We are playing with fire caving in to his demands like this. Just showed everybody that holding out CAN work in SF. I get that we needed him, but it's setting a bad precedent.

How do we know that the FO 'caved.' A similar deal might've been on the table weeks ago, and Boone had rejected it hoping for something substantial. I read somewhere that his reps also work with guys like D. Revis and V. Jackson....and they had some messy contract issues as well.

If we start seeing a pattern develop, then....

I agree I don't think 49ers caved in. If you remember Boone agent said he wanted Top 15 guard money. He didn't get this with this deal. I think 49ers were the ones that won here.

I'm not sure what this is about but sorry I haven't acted sooner. I lifted the avatar since I never got a response back from GoreRush.
