JT Barrett, without a shadow of a doubt, would do better than a 58:81 TD:INT ratio in the NFL. Draft projections mean nothing in this comparison, unless you're pointing out how hideously overdrafted Henne was, given how bad he is. Thanks for making my point.

His TD:INT ratio is 58:63. That's a pretty big difference to what you said. It's a shame we'll never know what Barrett could do at the next level because he won't be talented enough to see the field.

I know, it's too bad. Hopefully the Jags see how much more talented he is overall than Henne and finally dump that waste of money and give a more talented QB like Barrett a chance. Or better yet, get a better QB than both of them, like Joey Burrow or Dwayne Haskins.

The spread and/or air-raid schemes aren't conducive to getting guys prepared for the next level, which is my point, and that didn't stop all those guys getting drafted and getting drafted early.
Shows how desperate the NFL is for QBs!

It really comes down to him not having the arm strength or accuracy(not saying it's bad, but given his arm strength probably wouldn't be accurate enough) to be successful at the highest level. And I would agree, both of those guys behind him probably have a better skill set to make the next level. It's why a guy like Cardale Jones despite having a 10th of the production of JT at the college level, will end up being selected higher more than likely.

JT will go down as probably the most decorated OSU QB of all-time(don't know all the QB's, but he probably is of my life-time, maybe it's Troy Smith, not sure), that obviously is a huge accomplishment, he's been a really good collegiate QB.

I'll be very interested to see what a year under Wilson does for him. I don't believe that his arm strength is enough to keep him out of the league. There are plenty of guys who have had similar arm strength and made it in the league (Chad Pennington always immediately comes to mind). These last 2 years under Beck have been a nightmare for him, so this year should really determine if he can do it.

I agree, it'll be interesting under Wilson. And I agree, it's not enough to completely keep him out of the league, I just think it'll be more difficult, and he's been in a downward trajectory since his great Freshman season, which I know some falls on the OC, but JT still didn't look that accurate last season, especially down the stretch.

What are we supposed to say?

Agree or Disagree with your projections.

I'll try.

I guess #1 could happen. Both squads return a lot of starters. Both have
new Head Coaches, although OU's might be questioned.

I kinda believe the real question should be...If they do play twice...will anybody
outside the Big12 really care?

#2 has to be a stretch. I could see FSU taking them out. Maybe...just maybe
losing a League game...although I struggle to see who could beat them. I personally
see the SEC having nicks in their armor, with the exception of Bama. Then they
could lose in the SEC Title game...but that would have to be Georgia who is
bringing back 10 of defense. UF defense is being weakened, and until a QB
emerges, ican't see them challenging elite programs.

#3 is very possible. That's one schedule made in Heaven.

#4...I don't know about. I think you are giving Fuente's a great deal of credit.
Maybe more than he's capable of returning...this early in his career at VPI.
Of course they are in the Coastal which helps them. If they don't get outscored
vs UNC and they can win @ Miami...they'd have a fighting chance in the ACCCG.

#5...Is also very possible. Leach, off the radar, and unseen by many, has really
improved the WSU defense. This season he returns 9 of those defensive starters
so continued improvement is expected. He could be 8-1 going into November.

I'll rank your predictions with #1 be most likely to happen and then working down...

1...#3

2...#1

3...#5

4...#4

5...#2

I agree good post. On the statement in bold, my first thought was: about as much as any two teams playing each other twice in a season. Is a boring thought, except to those two schools, as you pointed out. But they have national followings, especially Texas. If by some slim chance Texas is in the conference championship game this year, there will be interest.

Personally, I think this is not the year-but looking at how the world is today, when crazy shit no one ever thought would happen is happening...it could happen.

I don't think he comes close to Henne in terms of talent. And Henne wasn't anything special either.

Yeah, Henne as a freshman was pretty good in that Rose Bowl vs Texas.

I will catch a 50 lb catfish before this season is over!

I remember once when I was about 5, my grandfather caught the biggest damn catfish I'd ever seen. It was bigger than me, dont know how much it weighed. He tried to lift into the trunk of his car, but it was a struggle.

I used to tell my nephew when he was little about the old tale in these parts about giant catfish sitting up against Mansfield Dam on Lake Travis, the story about a diver being sucked into one when the giant opened his mouth, and dying.

He actually wrote the "ask me anything" columnist in the paper about the story...said his uncle told him and, was it really true? :pound: The columnist used the entire article on the legend, and ended it with "well, no one is really sure".
