I remember reading about this the year leading up to him being drafted. It was a pretty unbelievable story.

Nice to see he turned himself into a decent hockey player and didn't go down the Mike Danton route instead. His spinorama move on Peter Harrold and schooling Quick has always been one of my favorite goals.

Yeah it's a good story overall. Just must have been crazy weird being a kid from back East and then dominating hockey out here. The drama of just playing vs not bringing too much attention to yourself because of your past and new name.
