It's the playoffs, it would probably be 6-8 games during the regular season. Not saying it's right, it just seems to be the pattern.

I think the fact the puck was in play here had a lot to do with it. Pronger and Simon incidents had the puck nowhere near the stomp. Obviously nobody knows intent but Ryan, but I'm guessing he was trying to free the puck up and made a stupid mistake, I really doubt he was trying to injure Blum. Nonetheless, it is suspension worthy and will hurt his team.

I'm just trying to reconcile 2 games for stomping on a guy versus 4 games (2r + 2p) for Torres throwing a body check.

I'm hearing rumors that Terry Murray was in on the call with hockey ops as well. At the end, he was asked by Campbell if he could compare this incident with the Pronger stomp on Kesler. He said it was awhile ago, but he thinks Pronger's was 5 times as bad.

By my quick math, if an 8 gamer is 5 times as bad, that equates to a 1.6 game suspension now, which is almost 5 full periods of regulation play. Because you cannot suspend a guy for a portion of a game, Ryan gets two games. I think I've figured out this whole wheel of justice thing now...

Looking at it slowly, it kind of looks like he tried to push the leg closer to the boards and force the puck out from behind it, very little weight is put on the foot, and its a little off the ankle and partially in the middle of the foot. The skate kind of slides across it.
