Just saw him interviewed on the intermission show.....he's on the trip as a guest of Eddie Johnston....Dan Potash interviewed him and he looked as excited as a kid in a candy store...lol...what a thrill....would be cool watch Mario and Orr hang out....number 1a and 1b in NHL history (Mario being 1a) :)

Gotta disagree with ya on who's 1a. I've come to like the argument of put 5 Orr's on the ice against 5 of any other player and the Orr's win most of the time (and I'm betting 75%). I believe Orr has the best +/- per game all time at over +.908 per game.

As always it's tough to compare Mario to other guys with only numbers...injuries put quite a damper on the man's career. I hold bias for him because 1) he played for my team and 2) I actually got to watch him play.

The same can be said for Orr as far as injuries, but IMO, even the numbers when put to games played are in Orr's favor. I never saw Howe or Rocket play, but Orr is the most dominating I've ever seen. He'll always be the GOAT in my book.

I kinda threw that 1a, 1b thing in with you in mind, BTM....I'm a Mario guy and you're an Orr guy....there is no denying the greatness of either one...but thats why we hang out on hockey boards....ya know?

I think Orr and Mario did more to make their teams great. Gretzky had a great supporting cast. I just think Orr is the best because of his defensive play compared to the others. No player dominated both ends of the ice like him. And personally, I feel the only thing Gretz has on Mario is numbers. IMO, Mario healthy is way more dominating than Gretz. He had size and speed. Skill wise I put those 3 at the top also. Bossy, Howe, and Richard round out the top 6 for me.
