Literally purchased his basketball card for $3 two days ago at the Mega Mall in Lansing, Michigan.

Similarly earlier in the season I created a thread about Bill Fitch just weeks before his passing.

Impeccable timing. Man this sucks.

Just curious, why the Lugnuts? There are closer minor league teams.
Hobby I picked up the year before the pandemic to visit different minor league stadiums. They were also the Cubs affiliate when Sammy played and was juicin.

Some of my earliest NBA memories include those old Detroit teams with him & Dave Bing. Damn shame they were about all the Pistons had back then.

Buffalo native and St Bona great. I probably saw him play 30-40 college games during his career. During the 1960s, Bona played a regular Saturday night double header at the Buffalo Aud. Canisius always had the other game.

I was in Raleigh for the NCAA regional loss to Carolina in 1968.

Every time I think of the Bonnies I think of Thomas Merton, a hero of mine.

Climbed that seven story mountain.
Was on a high school retreat in January with a self described atheist. The young man was very respectful despite his parents making him go on this 4 day retreat. He was in my small group and because he is an intellectual type and a voracious reader I gave him my copy of 7 Story Mountain. He just gave it back to me two weeks ago and tells me that he hasn’t missed Mass since he started reading it. Merton is the shit. What a great story
