If the right trade offer presented itself, St. Louis Blues GM Doug Armstrong would seriously consider trading veteran goaltender Brian Elliott.

Elliott, 28, is in the final year of his contract and is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next July.

He, along with fellow netminder Jaroslav Halak, came into the 2013-14 battling for the No.1 spot, but the Blues have decided to let Halak roll with it.
With young goalie Jake Allen ready to make the full-time jump to the NHL, but Blues have a plethora of goaltenders and it appears they're willing to trade Elliott, for the right price, after dangling Halak in the summer.

Halak, meanwhile, is also in the final year of his contract.

The Edmonton Oilers inquired about Elliott this week, but the two sides were not able to come to terms on an agreement. It's unclear if talks will continue.

Elliott, an NHL All-Star and co-winner of the 2011-12 William M. Jennings Trophy, an award he shared with Halak for having the lowest combined goals-against-average in the NHL, posted a 14-8-1 record last season with the Blues, along with a 2.28 goals-against-average, a .907 save percentage, and three shutouts.

The Fourth Period :: St. Louis Blues :: Blues would move Elliott

I could definitely see it if they get the right deal - Halak is the guy there and Jake Allen is waiting in the wings
