Because we should totally be trusting the umpires with judgement decisions because they have a great reputation. Especially given this was something implemented midseason.

Dumbest thing ever. He is not suspended for having a foreign substance he is suspended for being ejected for what the umpires believe was a foreign substance...huh? So now umpires who can't tell a strike from a hole in the wall are in charge of suspensions now. yeah being a No name Mariner pitcher is for sure a factor here.

I watched most of the game and it was clear Santiago was getting squeezed and he wasnt happy. I honestly wouldnt put it past the home plate ump to make a point even though he was already coming out of the game anyway.

Dead on. Thought same thing as it as happening. Phil Scuzzy, as I call him, was squeezing him and seems very vindictive to me. Remember he was the 1B ump that said Murphy swung on a check swing that was the worst check swing call I've seen in my 45 years of watching baseball. It just happened to come an AB after Murphy got screwed by home plate ump on pitches 3 inches inside that Murphy visibly argued with. Too much power for ego hungry, low character humans.

If the MLB would just say he is suspended based on Rule 6.02(d) then fine, dumb rule but at least its explainable. But to just say we suspended him because the umps ejected him is ridiculous.

Ray is just pumping fastballs and we cant do anything. That's whats frustrating about this offense most of the time. They cant handle fastballs

Yea Clark has to step in and I agree the MLB has slowly been losing me as well. If this rebuild doesnt work out, idk how much more I can handle

Was saying the same thing to my TV. And yes that check swing was BS. Home plate umps should not be allowed to call check swings. I can't believe for the life of me that they can look for a 98 mph pitch while also seeing if a guy swung.

I think pitchers should get together and all sit until MLB pulls its head out of its ass. I don't like cheating but this is stupid. Is the players union not doing anything?

Off day with your bullpen rested and Montero is still the first choice out of the bullpen in a tie game. This is how I can’t understand how people have any faith in Servais. Does this stuff need to happen 100 times to get thru to him because clearly like 20 times isn’t enough

When I heard Montero was heating up in the pen, I knew we we screwed. Talk about a manager who can deflate a team's momentum over and over. Just so tired of watching Servais as the M's manager. The young players either don't know any better or they think Servais is a great manager. I can't imagine any decent player would want to come to Seattle...

No idea on it yet, but yes the umpires are the last people who should be given authority over it. Nothing says ripe for an over reaction like a MLB umpire.
