It is a shame Coach Stewart passed away so early. I wish he were alive to see his hometown recognize him this evening.

I think this is a wonderful way to honor him and his achievements.

As a man I counted as a friend, he deserved this honor, because he loved West Virginia, her schools, her fans and the countless citizens for whom he touched their lives off the football fields.
