Giving someone else his number just puts the guys name back in the news. Would've been better off just erasing 32 from the available options

That would be effectively retiring his number, which is not at all what management or the fans would want. The only three numbers retired in Bills history belong to Kelly, Thomas, and Reed.

Some of the fans have suggested removing OJ from the "Wall of Fame", the 30 or so players/coaches/etc that have their name/number listed along the upper deck. This is in part due to it looking like there's not much space left to put more names. I doubt management would ever bother to do that. However, if by some chance the Bills actually get another stadium in Buffalo, I wouldn't be surprised if OJ was "left out" when the names got transferred over to the new stadium.
