How much of an impact do we predict his departure will have on the offensive line? Will it be minimal? Noticeable? Severe drop in play? Stay the same?

And how concerned are we with him going to the Redskins? They took an OT with their first pick (a bit of a reach but still fills a need).

I think any negative impact of his departure will be nullified by the arrival of Collins. Also, I'm not worried about him fixing their O-line. I'm more concerned with how we fix our D & D-line.

Hopefully he will also call plays for them or become their head coach

Big fan of Callahan the oline coach and have been for some time now. I think his job has been served here as it was with the NYJ's oline. Good players are just that. Bill will be just what the doctor ordered for washington. He'll make players better but Washington's problem will be keeping him for his ego won't let him stay just an oline coach for long. That's a problem cause Bill hasn't figured out his limitations.

I think Callahan is a big loss. We won't know if it will impact us or not until the season starts. I do think the additional talent we brought in will nullify his loss, but the fair measure isn't what we will be this year w/o Callahan and with Collins, it is what we would be with BOTH BC and Collins versus what we will be this year. So, no way to tell for sure...

I don't think losing Callahan will be any issue. Callahan is a great O-Line coach, no doubt about it. The tension he had with Garrett was an issue, and those types of toxic situations can not be allowed to fester. This will neither be a gain nor a loss for Dallas.

Frank Pollack, the new O-Line coach is a Callahan protege and is highly regarded. Dallas isn't changing schemes so there should be no continuity issues for the returning players. Pollack was and is a huge part of the development of the Dallas O-Line, this unit is in good hands going forward.

I'd like to hear how you know there was tension between he and Garret that was an "issue" and a time where it was a toxic situation. Sounds like you are assuming something based on him having the play calling taken away from him that never really happened IMO. I never saw anything but a Professional that put the team first last year after Linehan got here

There has been tension since Garrett basically hi-jacked the play calling from Callahan. Callahan may have been professional about it, but if you think there wasn't tension between the two, you're underselling Callahan's ego. Just because there were no big blow ups in the media or on the actual field does not mean there wasn't tension between the two. Where there is smoke there is fire.

There is a reason Bill Callahan is the offensive line coach of the Washington Redskins, and not the Dallas Cowboys. Why do you think Callahan made a lateral move to a worse team? There is a reason, and it's not because Callahan was bad at his job.

And please don't tell me that Callahan's move was about positioning for a future job. Staying with Dallas and heading up this O-Line would have been much better for his future job prospects than going to Washington where there is a huge chance of failure.

I'm not as worried about a fall off on our OL, because they are a great group, but I do think he's going to really help Washington

Callahan is an excellent coach and deserves credit for the success of our OL last season.

The reason he is in Wash is because he wants a bigger role and a better job just like everyone in America. That in no way whatsoever means there was tension and absolutely doesn't mean it was a toxic situation. It's a huge leap and assumption to go from one to the other. Garrett himself didn't like ultimately having to give up play calling. Is he mad at himself still too?

I have confidence in the Oline with or without Callahan. These coaches are not working with chopped liver here...
