I actually think they all benefited ...
I agree. Most deadline deals are that way, at least at the time. Because sellers get prospects and buyers get immediate help. But the question is who is the biggest winner so far?

Tough call, but I am going with the Padres ... they are loading up with talent in 3-5 years it looks like the White Sox and Pardres are going to be meeting in the World Series.

Hard to picture those teams in the World Series. But 5 years ago it would've been hard to imagine Cubs vs Astros too. So I'm not disagreeing.

Well, it's premature to say who won any of these trades, because we have no idea what the future holds for these prospects.

For example, if Francisco Mejia chokes to death on a hard shell taco this offseason, then clearly the Indians won the trade. Conversely, if Brad Hand has his thumb up his ass, falls off the bed and breaks his hand ending his career, then the Padres won.

It's hard to say. The Padres got the highest ranked prospect of the two deals, but they also gave up solid players who are under team control for years. The Dodgers got a proven beast and only gave up one Top 100 ranked prospect, but they only have the rights to that beast for a few months.

in 3-5 years it looks like the White Sox and Pardres are going to be meeting in the World Series.

It could happen, but I wouldn't bet on it. During the mid-late aughts, the Indians' farm system consistently ranked in the top three in baseball. All that netted them was one playoff berth and no World Series appearances.

A lot of attrition with these prospects, even the high-end ones.

Orioles or Padres.

Dodgers and Indians need to win to be winners.

Not if Mejia doesn't live up to his potential. There's also the fact that Hand is under team control through 2021, and Climer isn't even arb eligible for years.

Dodger have the best odds of being losers imo.

If they aren't WS champs THIS year, they lose.

I'd also suggest if this is how it is, then the only way a team ever "wins" a trade is if they win a championship, which seems like a pretty strict litmus test.
Just be happy that Lucroy trade never happened.

You get a few years, Dodgers get one crack. Most trades don't have a winner. Way more losers of deals than winners. There can be two losers, it is allowed.

Giolito and Fulmer going to learn how to pitch?

Sox ain’t a threat anytime soon right now

I think you may be wrong, but I am hoping you're right ... the White Sox are loaded with young talent, can they turn it into a team?

I’m just not seeing them close. Nobody had them competing this year but many thought they would be much improved.

They suck.

Gonna need pitching
