Better defense Bears or Pats.

Pats have a smothering D... best I’ve seen in the Brady era and that’s saying something. But if I HAD to pick one I’d take the Bears ever so slightly. That’s my opinion today... it could change next week... that’s how close it is.

I am biased obviously but I think the Patriots D is better if only because the man pulling all the magic levers is Belichick.

both are very good defenses but both have played some of the most anemic offenses in the league.

i will be anxious to see these defenses when they are up against the better offenses to see how they fare.

There is no modern day defense anywhere near the dominance of the mid 80's Bears. Those days are long gone. Early 2000's Ravens as close as anyone. I seriously doubt we will ever see defenses that dominant again.
As for todays defenses, does it really matter who we think is better when we are talking top 5 units. It's hair splitting and yesterdays Pats/ Bills matchup was a good example. Both D's were excellent and only a blocked punt was the difference maker. Pats got the early lead and hung on with some help from turnovers.

pats by a hair. secondary is just ricidulously deep and filthy. big edge to the pats there. they have 10 picks already lol. both pass rushes are filthy too. 8 guys have at least 1 sack for both teams. that says a lot.
both are stacked. maybe edge on D0line to the bears. LB's are equal IMO. collins is our version of mack.

Would lean towards the Bears. Pats have mostly played glorified high school offenses so far. Schedule doesn't really pick up either until about the halfway point.

Not sure which is better. Both are great. But of the 27 points that the Pats have given up, only 13 is against the defense. But yeah, let's see how they do against a decent offense.

BB built this defense to defend against Mahomes. The KC game will be the real test.
