Apologies if this has been done. What is the best fight you have ever seen?

For me, it may have been the Sugar Ray vs Hagler fight back in 1987. I was in boot camp at the time and our CC let us watch the fight, I remember being the only person rooting for Sugar Ray. It might have been because of the atmosphere but that was an excellent fight.

Watching Buster beat Tyson was pretty memorable as well. Tommy Hearns and Sugar was awesome too.

    So, whatcha got?

I didn't watch that live but I have seen it, simply outstanding fight.

Ali v Foreman was great as well.

Best fight I've ever watched live: Probably Bradley-Provodnikov in early 2013 (March 10th, I think it was?). The fight between Omar Figueroa & Nihito Arakawa is a close 2nd...but not that close.

    Ever watched in general: It's a tie between Gatti-Ward I & Vazquez-Marquez III.

    :salute::salute::salute:

As a bias disclaimer, I am a Holyfield fan. Holyfield v Tyson was great and as far a brutality goes, Holyfield v Foreman is up there.

Even as a Holyfield fan … Ali knocked foreman out, something Holyfield could not do 17 years later. And that was not from a lack of great punches.

Norton/Holmes in 1978. Doesn’t get nearly enough recognition now as it did then.

    Hagler vs. Leonard

And I still think Hagler won.

I don't want to start a big argument about it but I rewatched that fight maybe a month or two ago and agreed with my original belief that Hagler won that fight.

Ward-Gatti were all great fights. Hagler-Hearns of course. The one I probably enjoyed watching the most though was Naseem Hamed and Kevin Kelley.

    Hagler-Hearns.

Lasted three rounds. The guy who won was a fucking bloody mess.

They stood there and beat the shit out of each other.

None of that Mayweather running around the ring for eight rounds bullshit.

Just realized I called/spelled him "Gotti" :L, I must have had that on the brain since I saw a headline about the mob boss recently.

My ex-father-in-law was at Gatti-Ward I, ever since all I had to do was mention it and he'd start smiling, get all excited and forget about whatever he was talking about. Nice card to have up the sleeve.

He was also pretty friendly with Willie Pep at the end of his days. I never met Willie but what an honour that would have been!
