You & I will probably have to both eat crow at some point. You for Snell, and me for Gentry.

Time will tell whether our “concerns” held merit or not. At least we are coming around... sorta

In the mock world maybe... but seeing how the real draft unfolds is quite different. You just never know how each team covets a prospect. For example that Hawaii LB that Detroit took in the 2nd was slated for 6th-7th Rds in consensus rankings iirc

My initial observation as well. But I’ve started to come around to him. Still concerned about his blocking ability.

How about his 4.99 40 time? I guess his 6'8" size helps, but he'll never be called wheels......

I watched that 40... cringeworthy to say the least. He was terrible getting out of his stance then basically looked like he was doing high-knee exercises the rest of the way.

He's the only pick I'm not on board with, looks like a project, blocking skills as mentioned seem questionable, lack of speed a concern for separation and they see him as someone to be a big seam threat.....I hope I'm wrong about him, but in this day and age, give me someone fast and real athletic to cause a mismatch.....

Or the fact a teams would think Daniel Jones or Clelin Ferrell are top 10 picks.

With Gentry though teams were enamored with this size, speed and route running abilities so he probably would have been drafted. Over reaction from the Steelers for missing out on the TE they wanted yes, but it could have been worse.

Oh yeah with out that 2nd round pick they needed to be smarter on their 4th/5th round picks and both were major reaches. I hope both turn out to be serviceable players, if not they will have holes at RB/TE to fill come the start of the season.

I'd like to agree with you...on paper this pick looked liked a reach.

But, going in the 5th round, I'm not real sure I would call many picks a huge reach....the fact is every team tends to take a player far earlier than the media big boards suggests. I liked the UGA TE, Nauta at that spot, but they were at the UGA pro day in some form or fashion and they left him on the board....So...they didn't want him.

Idk what to think of Gentry yet aside from he's a big tall man that they think can catch some passes....I still think we might see a vet TE in camp.

Not concerned at all about the RB pick...skillset seems to fit how PIT use their RBs, and his hands are probably better than what we would expect coming out of KY.

I still would like to see a smaller change of pace type RB, but it seems as it that ship has sailed for this season.

The TE spot I can see them bringing a vet into camp. Regardless of what we think about Gentry, I'm more concerned that Grimble is not worthy of the TE2 role.
