Ten years after he was picked 6th overall in the 2009 Draft (and being released/returning 15 times), Andre Smith makes his first professional start at Left Tackle. In Seattle.

Exactly how we wrote it up.

Whatever happens in this game, take solace that the Browns got throttled by 30. At home.

Encouraging so far. You can tell there is a different energy on offense.

And I don’t care if we got our 37th choice for D coordinator. They are playing their nuts off.

Something I've observed, we're letting Andy Dalton play like Andy Dalton.

I wonder why? lol.

no Marvin?

Bengals looking good for 3 quarters then fall apart in the 4th. I feel like I've seen this before.

They weren't going to win anyway, but I have never seen that kind of play called a fumble and confirmed on replay.

Take away from the game: Lose by 1 point in a game that saw the Bengals miss a routine FG, a flukey INT caused by a sudden downpour, and some questionable redzone play calling. The defense had exactly one really bad play and that proved to be the difference.

That was a.B.S. call. Your D-line took the Seahawk O-line's lunch money today. However, both teams made mistakes and some good plays. Seattle won the coin flip today. Good luck the rest of the season.

Just catching up on the highlights and the news (didn't watch the game). Looks like the Bengals really blew a chance to win a game that they probably should have won. But, you have to make the plays to beat good teams, particularly in their house. Love hearing about the aggression that the coaching staff displayed today. It's only one game, and its a loss, but damn it's nice not to have Marvin anymore.

if it happened to Tom Brady, then it would have been ruled an incomplete pass, at least.

we all knew there was no way we win this game, it's the Bengals. they know their roll in this league.

You know, I was pleasantly surprised with the Bengals. They were watchable. Yes, they had their chances, but things like that happen, even to good teams, in tough environments on the road. Especially to those teams who are not yet really equipped to handle those challenges.

For all the warts and issues that looked to be facing this team, they fought, they showed energy, and the coaching staff actually let players play, and looked fully engaged in getting a win, and not making "statements" about someone dropping a pass, or this/that/the other.

It was 1 game. We'll see how the first quarter of the season goes, but if they can take this level of effort into each game, they are going to have some chances.

Dalton had one of his better games and it was...
- without AJ Green
- without Cordy Glenn
- with no runninh game
- on the road in loudest stadium in the league

Tough loss but it was promising if our head coach can maximize Dalton's play. Plus after yesterday the division looks wide open.

What I liked. The Seattle defense took our running game away, so Taylor is like, fine we will throw the ball all day then. He didn't keep trying to force 1 yard runs just to try and make it work out. That drove me nuts.

DLine is bad ass. I don't know how good Seattle's offensive line is, but we absolutely blew them up. Too many missed opportunities to win this game. I also don't think we had 1 single false start penalty in Seattle on opening day. That just dumbfounds me. The Bengals not one false start penalty in that atmosphere? That is impressive.
