Red Sox dumping salary to the Royals
Nice grab for the Royals, knowing nothing about these prospects
I never liked Benediti, but no denying the talent and some guys can excel under the radar in small markets, I could see him as one of those guys
We got Cordero from the Padres last year
Still a prospect at 26
big lefty, has some power
K so that sorta eliminates him as anything special being 26, most likely
these are the type of shrewd moves a team like KC need to make...Underachievers with big time talent that don’t break the bank and you hope they max out that talent
Not sure if his defense is any good, but he will definitely be an improvement in lineup over Gordon.
Good “buy low” move for the Royals. Benintendi seemed to lose his way with the Red Sox. Not sure what the Sox like about Cordero.Red Sox dumping salary to the Royals
Verdugo is better than Bradley and Benintendi, though. Also, Benintendi was absolutely awful last year. This isn’t the 2018 version of AB they are dealing.
No. He was a very good left fielder. He somehow lost some speed over the last couple seasons. Probably focused on bulking up to hit HR’s and is cost him one of his better assets. He was lightning fast when he came up. Sweet sweet swing when he’s going right. I like it for KC.Playing the monster never really gives ya a true feel for how good or bad a guy may be out there, but never really heard any harsh criticism of his defense

Mets doing sneaky good things, thought Villar for 3.5 million is a move almost any team in the league could have made
True. But it’s the Mets. They’ll fuck it up somehow.Mets doing sneaky good things, thought Villar for 3.5 million is a move almost any team in the league could have made
Your account should be suspended for at least an hour for referencing Wily Mo Pena.I thought his defense was really good in 2017/18, but he regressed in 2019 per UZR and DRS.
If you get 2018 Benintendi (even if only at the plate), that's a very nice player to have. Wish Benny the best of luck and wouldn't be surprised one bit if he flourishes in KC.
Cordero's not much younger than Benny and he doesn't have the minor league or major league track record that Benny does and seems like another Wily Mo Pena. He does have some versatility (he's played all over the OF and played short in the minors, don't know if he can still handle it on occasion). If he can hit enough, he could be a useful utility guy. Winckowski is a lottery pitching prospect, though I'm kind of intrigued. There's reports there could be more on the way to Boston, I hope so because it's pretty meh so far.
