Let us know how the Beck's is Uga. Have read that it is underwhelming (very little hop aroma/flavor), but I would like to try it out.

Sapphire is the hops they use for this beer. Never used or tried anything (that I know of) with this hop variety. The thing that confuses me is that from what I have read about this beer, is that it is not very hoppy at all. Matter of fact, some said they couldn't even really taste any hops. Don't put the hops name on the bottle if you can't taste it. That kind of marketing strategy is not good IMO.

Sapphire – A new breed of hop that is starting to replace the Hallertauer Mittlefrueh variety, which has become more and more susceptible to disease and pests. Shares many of the Hallertaur Mittlefrueh characteristics and is very well suited as an aroma hop. This hop is distinguished by a sweet and clean citrus aroma that has a hint of tangerine. (Alpha acid 2–4.5% / Beta acid 4–7%)

Do not recommend. Too much of a bitter taste for me. It was a few more dollars than Bud Black Crown and Black Crown had a better taste. You were spot on VT about it being underwhelming. If you get one just to try it then it might be ok for you depending on what you like. It's just not my cup of tea.

Well I'm no beer genius or anything lol. I tasted another one with dinner and it was a little better so it could have been because I ate something different before it.

Question has anyone purchased the Guiness Black Lager? When I go to the beer store I keep looking but always go for other stuff. I hate to waste money if it is no good.
