Bears sign a safety?

Funny I can't find his name anywhere but heard on Comcast that the Bears signed A safety that was with them in the off season.
A STs fill in for Peanut?
Our 4th CB is McMannis who was primarily brought in for STs. Love him on STs. But if 1 of our starting 3 CBs goes down I'm not feeling to comfortable w/ Sherrod in there.
Just sayin, I think a better move would have been to steal a promising CB off somebodies PS. There has got to be 1 out there. Just a Guess. And JMO.

Derrick Martin, was on the NYG SB team in 2011. Had some experience as a starter in Baltimore early on in his career.

Why do we sign a career BU safety, when we need CB help? We lose a supposed pro bowl CB. And sign a guy who probably won't see the field except for STs.
Something isn't right here.

Is Major Wright on the injury report anywhere?
I know he got dinged a few times in the last couple of games, -maybe there is an issue there.

Walters is back on the sidelines and Steltz has been the first guy in to replace Wright. Our current cornerbacks are not all on the field, so lets keep going with the next man up mentality.

McCmannis would play... he's a CB. Like you said.

They strengthened the safety position because obviously don't feel like any CB up there was an upgrade over what they already have.
