"I hear there's some rumblin out there about just beating a tough Vanderbilt team by (3 or7) points. I want to remind those folks that it wasn't that long ago when they would have been happy to beat anybody period!"
Unrealistic expectations can ruin a team as much as anything iyam. We're the winningest team in college football since 2008, have won 3 natties in that time frame, brought in multiple #1 recruiting classes, headed toward another one, and we're 3-0 on the season. We have to realize that we can't always be the best team in the nation by a wide margin, sometimes you're going to slip down to just being a damn good team.
I'm just thankful that even in a year like this, where we're rebuilding in some places, and lacking in the secondary, and having lots of injuries, that we will still hang with and have a more than good chance to defeat any other team in the country.
We needs to sit back, relax, and let the process continue.
