Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports that the A's aren't done trading and are nearing completion of another trade, though it doesn't involve Brett Anderson. ESPN's Jerry Crasnick adds that it's the Rangers that are in the midst of discussions on a significant trade with Oakland.

I'm guessing that's what the Johnson trade was for.

Gentry can get on base, draw some walks (and HBPs), steals bases and plays good defense. He had a WAR of 3.6 last year in just 287 PA. 2.8 in 269 PA in 2012.

Jim Johnson would be involved also...but that is a real possibilty and a great deal for the rangers and the A's.

However, I think it was a fair assumption for players to start to move today after yesterdays tender deadline. I also think that making big moves at the GM meetings may be a thing of the past. Just a hunch/feeling on my part, thinking that the advent and ease of contact between GM's now makes physically getting together to do things more of a formality than a necessity.
