2010 BCS Standings

NEW YORK -- The Bowl Championship Series standings will be released starting Oct. 17 on Sunday nights during ESPN's new BCS Countdown show.

The 75-minute show will debut Sunday at 8:15 p.m. ET and run through Dec. 5. The first 45 minutes of the show will be on ESPN. At 9 p.m., it will switch to ESPNU.

The show will begin with a special preview edition on Oct. 10. Each week it will include not only the announcement of the 25 teams in the weekly BCS standings but also discussion from analysts, including the potential impact of upcoming games and interviews with college football coaches and players. There will also be a weekly Heismanology segment.

ESPN is in its first season as the TV home for the BCS, with rights to the Orange, Sugar and Fiesta Bowls, as well as the BCS Championship Game.

If Nebraska takes care of business against Texas next Saturday, they'll be at least 4th IMO.

I don't know that our strength of schedule at that point will get us to 4 right away but it will be close.

4 might be a little high, especially since texas has lost twice already!

I don't see Boise St or TCU being ahead of NU once the computers are factored in.

In the USA Today (Coaches Poll) TCU is only 11 points ahead of NU. After NU's performance Thursday night on national TV that may have been enough to sway a couple of votes to put NU ahead of them even this week. Oregon jumped Boise in both polls with their win over Stanford.

Boise St's win over VT is tainted by VT's loss to James Madison.

K. State was undefeated with a win over UCLA
Washington beat an undefeated USC @ USC.

NU literally smashed both of those BCS teams.

I think a win over Texas who everyone knows matches up talent wise position to position would be enough put NU to #4 in the BCS formula.

hell the coaches got us 4th already, if we beat texas by 10 or more i belive we could be #3, i no this contradicts what i said earlier but if they have us 4th already, one more good win could bump us ahead of those non aq teams
