Figured its easiest to do game threads on a per week basis like Saturday to Saturday. Anyway, 3 games this week.

Nov 9: USC Upstate Noon on ESPN3
Nov 12: WVU 1pm on ESPN
Nov 15: WCU 7pm on ESPN3

Is there a shot Adam Smith doesn't like?

Swaggy P Jr. If the ball is in my hands, I must be open!

Not the prettiest game so far but its almost even across all categories

This "Player X dribbles at the top of the arc for 7 seconds then moves to the side, dribbles 7 more seconds and shoots a 3" play we're running could use a little work

If there's one positive so far its that Joey seems to have really refined his blocking. 5 blocks so far and really showing good instincts on when to jump to meet the ball

Starting the year off with a loss 64-63. Joey made a great defensive stop with 20 seconds left, we get the ball back and make a total mess of things. Positives are Raines and Joey played very well imo. The rest...eh

Just looked up the official stats. Eddie was 6-21 and Adam Smith was 3-10. EFFICIENCY!!!! Oh well. Enough ragging on them. Seriously though, Raines and Joey played well. If they stay consistent and the brick brothers can reign themselves in a bit, we should exceed the low expectations for the season.

No where to go but up people.

Serious inquiry: We always hear that Kalvin Cline was an all-state basketball player in high school. Has anyone heard whether basketball moonlighting is a definite NO for him? Not sure how good he actually is but he'd be a free scholarship player and a crowd favorite (in a year the program needs to be creative to sell tickets IMO).

IMHO, Cline needs to focus on the weight room and blocking next semester, not basketball. Maybe some other year. I'm not sure he'd really contribute much in basketball this year anyway... we have bodies down low, and he'd be coming in too late to push into the lineup unless he's flat out amazing and an incredibly quick study of what Johnson wants them doing.

I agree. He's a solid asset on the football team.

Considering what JJ's shown last year and in game 1, I don't think much studying would be required...

Any word on what Rankin's situation is?
