Barry's Performance Week 2

If it wasn't for the fumble that Norman forced, he would get an F. Why? He still constantly plays zone with no blitz on 3rd and long. If I remember correctly he only brought one blitz which we stopped Dallas and forced them to punt. When Dallas was going for there winning TD's we had them in 3rd and 11 I believe. He sat back and only rushed four. Dak had plenty of time to throw the ball and completed and easy one to Beasley. Same thing happened in the Pitt game. When the game is on the line in the 4tq he simply does not bring pressure.

Now we play Eli who will absolutely tear us up if Barry chooses to play this way. Eli usually folds under pressure and that is how you beat him. If Barry doesn't get his head out of his ass its going to be a long season. I know I sound like a broken record but it has been the same result two weeks in a row. Thoughts?

To answer your question, skinsdad, we definitely DONT have the pieces to sit back in zone and rush four, that's for damn sure.

Why not some cover zero, bring everybody up to the line, blitz the house, or one extra, or an entire side, or stunt?

Honestly, I don't know if Barry is struggling because of ineptitude or lack of talent to properly scheme. For that matter it could be both?

Well Chill , we need smith to make an impact , breeland has to play ball. And Bruton has to cvs someone , so far none of that has happened. And add to it the worst d/line in organized football at any level

Throwing blitzes all day at a quick throw offense does not sound like a smart move to me.

I think we have enough if we become an attacking defense. Zone just does not work for this defense.
