How on earth would these so called experts pick us to win the EC, let alone the SC? Don't get me wrong I love that the Flyers are getting some repect. It's just so much has changed and we became very young. I love the changes. I just think it will take more than a season to compete for the SC. I hope I'm wrong.

I think we still have it, and we are still one of the top teams in the league. Can we win it this year? You bet your tits. There are still a few better teams than us that will make it very tough.

i think the flyers remind me very much of the blackhawks of 08-09. an up and coming young team who is on the brink. i could easily see the flyers making the conference finals this year, adding a missing piece in the offseason and competing for the cup the following year. with that being said, i do think the flyers, if they play to their potential, have just as good a shot at winning the cup as anyone else. the talent is certainly there. we just need a little bit of luck and some career years out of guys. prongs and timonen probably have 2 more years to anchor this defense. i dont think a cup this year is unrealistic, but i think a cup within the next 2 seasons isnt out of the question. giroux and jvr are a very very scary core when they are on their game
