I'm a Cubs fan who moved to the bay area (San Bruno specifically) 4 months ago, and I've been struggling to find a bar where I can watch my Cubbies. I tried Monaghan's, but it was more of a drinking/music spot, where I'm looking for a spot to sit and watch games.

I've also gotten recommendations for The Bar on Dolores, and I'm probably going to give that a shot in the next week or so. If anyone has any other recommendations, I'd really appreciate it.

I don't live in the area, so I can't help specifically, but a few ideas...

1) Have you googled "Cubs bar" and a few of the nearby cities?
2) Try meetup. There may be a local group for Bears or Cubs fans.

Sorry... I'm in the south bay, so I can't help you either.

Maybe @longhorn718 can help you. I think she's closer to the city than I am? Or are you east bay?

East Bay so unfortunately no help. I'll ask my peninsula friends for their recs though.

Thanks Giants bros & gals. FYI, anything San Jose or closer, or anything in/near Heyward would be cool. I don't mind the drive, and it might be less packed than a SF spot.

For San Jose area- the Yard House, Coach's, Rookies, the Brit (downtown & the one on Almaden), Branham Lounge (it can be hit or miss for a drinking/music night), San Pedro Square area and for a small, hole in the wall type of place- Tony P's.

There's a new place in South San Francisco Hometown Heroes - South San Francisco, CA that friends of a friend raved about.

If you like Irish pub food, Fiddler’s Green - Millbrae, CA also gets a few nods from people. They're soccer fans, though, so I'm not sure what the bar's total sports coverage is like.

In Union City, Chaplin’s Sports Bistro - Union City, CA isn't bad, gots lots of TVs. It's a straight shot south on Hesperian from 92.

Note these are all secondhand (and in the case of the first place, thirdhand) reviews, so I hope I'm not sending you on wild goose chases.

Welcome to the Bay Area!

I went to Fiddler's Green for the champion's league final. It was a pretty cool place, but I doubt they'd show any baseball. I found a place in San Mateo called Windy City Pizza & BBQ, so hopefully that scratches my itch.
