I have been half-thinking about this for a while, but it really isn't that important to me, so I never thought to bring it up.

Our banner is completely, super-dull. It is a left-over from the original build of the site, and we have two rings since that we can bling it out with. Are you guys interested in looking into getting a new banner for the forum?

If so, what should it include?

2010 trophy (or ring?)
2012 trophy (or ring?)

Bonds
Mays
McCovey
Posey
Clark
Lincecum
Mitchell
Kent
(any other award winners I am forgetting?)

Different logos from the years?

Reference to '56?

As a suggestion, perhaps a photo montage, chronologically left to right, to include (and I'm open to suggestion):

Bobby Thompson's home run in 1951
Willie Mays's catch in the 1954 Series
A picture of Marichal's leg kick (no, not him whacking John Roseboro!)
A picture of Willie McCovey
A picture of Will Clark
A picture of Barry Bonds
A picture of the 2010 on-field celebration
A picture of the 2012 on-field celebration

Kinda blur the edges of the pictures together to suggest a flow

Something like that

I like the idea of the rings maybe flanking the sides facing outward? A little bit of AT&T would be nice, too.

I would love to see the images of the WS celebrations on the banner. They are more memorable than the rings or trophies.

I have reached out to a few of the great Photoshop guys here on the hoop about making a new banner.

My ideas that I have communicated are...

1) The main piece should be the 3 trophies (the third ring has not been shown yet).
2) Mays
3) AT&T
4) Lincecum leaping in the sea of Giants players (2010)
5) Posey/Wilson hug (2010)
6) Scutaro in the rain (2012)
7) Bum

Any other items that should be considered? Any layout ideas?

Might be pushing the capacity, but maybe a lil' Bochy somewhere in there?

Just the trophies and the rings with a team logo. No players. Make it about the team, not the players.

What image? Do you have a specific pic you would like him to work in?

Personally, I don't think he makes the cut. The only non-championship player who makes the cut, IMHO, is Mays. No Clark, no McCovey, no Williams...
