On Baez:
He doesn't have a bad swing or is just getting unlucky. He's completely approaching his at bat incorrectly with those outside sliders. It's just lazy and arrogant.
The Coaches need to tell him: "I'd rather you strike out ten times in a row on the outside corner than see you swing at a pitch out there in the next ten days. If you can't get behind that, then you won't be seeing yourself in the starting lineup regularly."
It's that simple. This isn't an injury, or a slump, or bad luck. He's choosing to go against the team culture and his coaches' instructions, and further, we know from the recent past that he CAN do it right if he wants to.

Its hard to complain to him while Bryant and Rizzo are still batting into shifts.

I have heard that Baez consistently hits the ball to the right field gap in batting practice. He is concentrating on doing it. But when he was hitting in the late innings after the cubs scored 13 and was swinging out of his shoes with two strikes, it shows its all mental.

Pitchers are beating up that left handed batters box until he beats them to right field consistently.

Last three at bats this previous game lost by one run:
Strike out swinging on ball low and outside.
Strike out swinging on ball low and outside.
Swung at three balls outside strike zone, last swing being a dribbler for an out swinging at a ball low and outside.
