Today is the first time I've gone pistol shooting since I got bifocals. I was 5 rounds into my first magazine before I hit the damn target paper. I can no longer see the front sight of any handgun I own. It was a very frustrating day.

Reckon swapping to some high viz tritium sights or maybe even a red dot would help? I know there's several different options out there, some of which are meant for those with some vision impairments.

I think I'm gonna try a pair of readers first, for an immediate fix. But will probably go with a Crimson Trace when I buy a new carry pistol.

I'd piss on a spark plug if I thought it would help.
I read accounts where that has proven very effective in correcting vision issues. I highly recommend you try it and report your personal results back to us.

Larger targets perhaps? Can you hit the back wall of the range?

I have the same problem. I went from a "front sight focus", to a "target focus" style of shooting. Most DGU situations are at less than 25 feet and at that distance I have no problem putting multiple rounds center mass using this method. There are LOTS of videos and articles explaining it, it might be worth your while to give it a try. It does NOT replace using your front sight, and will never be as accurate, but it is still VERY effective in a DGU situation.
