Thoughts on SJ claiming him (wont happen, but just curious what people think)... Yea he's a head case, but would you like him on the 3rd line? I would since he's an upgrade on what they have and they wouldnt have to make that trade later in the season giving up something for a rental. Isnt his salary cheap to since its re-entry waivers? Like less then 2mil...?

He's perfect for the third line in terms of his actual hockey skills, but that headcase part is toxic to a locker room. Plus he takes too many minors and with the Sharks inability to kill penalties, bad mix. Any team picking him up would pay a quarter of his salary if I'm correct. Dallas is paying for half (50%), then the Rangers would pay for half of that (25%).

Yeah it's too bad about Avery's head because he does actually have some decent hockey skills. I agree he would be an upgrade for the Sharks ability-wise, don't know if it would be worth it to take a chance though.
