The AAC isn't any good.

AAC, A-10 and Mtn. West aren't high major leagues.

Big East is down this year, not quite at the level of the 4 conferences, but well above the rest of the flotsam.

The top 4 conferences are pretty close this year. I would rank them like this...

ACC
Big 10
SEC
Big 12

Big 12 deserves to be at the top metrics because they kicked ass NC, but I think as a whole they're overrated this year.

Also, SEC/Big12 challenge, could earn one conference a lot of metric points.

I think it's pretty clear the ACC is best at the top . B10 is the deepest . B12 is the most competitive top to bottom SEC would be my number 4 but other than Tennessee I don't see another E8 caliber team

Best at the top:

ACC
Big 10
SEC
Big 12

Deepest:

Big 12
Big 10
ACC
SEC

I may even have the Big East being deeper than the SEC.

Welcome to cbb, noob.

Mid-major is a term used in American NCAA Division I college sports, especially men's basketball, to refer to athletic conferences that are not among the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac-12, and SEC, the Big East, the American, the Atlantic 10, and the Mountain West. These conferences are sometimes referred to as "high majors" by comparison.

Big 12 is the best conference because of depth but they could also be out before 2nd weekend. No great teams.

I'm not sure . I think the B12 has 8 solid teams with OKST and WVU being subpar. B10 has , right now , 9 teams I think are pretty good and the ACC may have 10. I suppose if you're arguing by % of total teams its the B12 but I'd say the 3 are pretty even in depth . The struggles of IU and Nebraska have made me question the B10 depth but those struggles didn't start til conference play so tough to tell
