Fantastic news...If he hadn't been caught up in a couple of crashes earlier, he'd easily be top 10.

/How was the game last night at Empire Field?

his Garmin teammate Thor Hushovd kinda screwed him at the end in the sprint but its everyman for himself in that sitch i guess

great atmosphere ... really fun

"WHITE - CAPS" chant was loudest Ive heard all season. started slow because the pitch was a swamp but Caps played well in the first half. Chants started where i was sitting "switch to grass" lol

Mancity definitely were not going all out because of the conditions. almost had an Edgar Martinez moment when Toure sprained his ankle. SWP shot was amazing, world class. You could hear the net rip when the ball hit it and the crowd just let out a collective "oooooooosh" (lol)

Balotelli was worth seeing live ... one of the biggest knuckleheads in professional sports in the world ... skilled but dirty lazy and aloof ... all were on display last night

Thor didn't screw Ryder - Ryder led him out and then for the last 300 meters or so laid back and let his teammate take the stage. That's how teammates do it. Didn't Ryder get third? 1-2 for Norge from what I saw.

Nonetheless, that Garmin team is fun to watch.

Also, that SWP goal was a cracker on tv, I'd imagine it was even better in person.

I was drunk lol (mis-read the way the race ended off a "tour-cast" online)

after seeing the footage ... very noble of Hesjedal to block for his teammate to win

still dont undertand why its Thors stage to win and not Ryder's ... Ryders only 20 something mins back of the overall lead and Thors 50-something mins back of the lead ... Is it about points or a drifferent colored shirt at stake for Thor?

I think Norway can now consider the gift of a broken ski pole at the Olympics to Canada paid in full (lol)

(Reuters) - Canadian cyclist Ryder Hesjedal, winner of the 2012 Giro d'Italia, said on Wednesday that he doped "more than 10 years ago".

"I have loved and lived this sport but more than a decade ago I chose the wrong path," said the Garmin-Sharp rider in a statement.

"Even though those mistakes happened more than 10 years ago, and they were short-lived, it does not change the fact I made them and I have lived with that and been sorry for it ever since."

The statement came in response to allegations by Dane Michael Rasmussen who said earlier on Wednesday he taught Hesjedal how to take the banned blood-booster erythropoietin (EPO) in 2003.

I love cycling. But there is no doubt it has been and still is the dirtiest major sport in the world.

Too bad for Ryder. At least he just admitted it (unlike some arrogant bastards from Texas), though I sadly doubt that 10 years ago was the last time.

Ryder: "I've never doped."
Press: "Your colleague says you did 10 years ago."
Ryder: "Okay, but that was the only time."

Not very convincing...

I think I need to try this stuff. I mean on solo rides, I can average 18 - 19mph and in groups with a steady cadence I can go 21 or 22 for good stretches.

I wonder how much faster I can go with it? Plus, I don't like being the only person NOT doing something.
