I think Eason will be the starter, but I wouldn't rule it out Haener coming out the starter or eventually replacing Eason.

I know that Eason is the presumed favorite because of his incredible arm, but he really doesn't fit the mold of the players Petersen has started at QB or recruited. Petersen likes smart, accurate QBs who might have average to below average arm strength. Eason is a strong armed QB with questionable accuracy and a lack of consistency.

My biggest concern is that the offense isn't designed for a player like Eason and I question Bush Hamden's ability to adjust. Eason has an arm that would make many NFL QBs envious, but I question his accuracy. I've never been a fan of big armed QBs who have issues hitting their target. I'm sure that Eason will make a lot of incredible throws, but I think he will also overthrow a lot of open targets.

I anticipate that Eason will make the throws that Browning couldn't, but miss the throws that would be routine for Browning. As frustrated as we were with Browning, I have a bad feeling we might be missing him in 2019.

I saw film on Eason when he was at UGA and he sucked balls. Horrible footwork to say the least. He looked like Max Browne 2.0 Big arm and nothing else to go with it.

As a true freshman in the SEC, with a horrible OL, no WRs to speak of, and a new coaching staff, he had a 55% completion rate, and threw for 2,430 yards with 16 TDs to 8 INTs. UGa was not good that year, and it wasn't Eason's fault. Keep in mind that his high school competition wasn't the best, certainly not comparable to what QBs see in FL, GA, TX, etc. He also had a full year at UGa and another at UW ... I am going to presume that those two years gave him time to learn and mature. Sucks balls is a little dramatic.

There are UGa fans who weren't sold on him. But they were mostly the ones who were ready to dump Fromm for Fields after the Spring Game.

Obviously time will tell, but I am thinking you guys are going to like what you see.

I assume these preseason polls are what they expect the final rankings in January to be.

Nebraska could be a 4 loss team and be ranked at 17 in the final polls.

Either (9-4) or (10-4) would do it.

However you want to come up with those 4 losses is up to you.

I'm praying Heaner gets named starting QB. If that happens I'm going to troll every Huskies Facebook group ever created. It will be like Hillary losing to Trump all over again.

Michigan at #4:L What a joke.

Granted, it doesn’t matter where you slot in all the teams after Clemson and Alabama — putting UM at #4 is laughable.

They may as well just say:

1. Alabama
2. Clemson

3. Georgia
4. Michigan
5. OSU

At least, like this it’d be more believable.

Michigan being #4 after continually proving to not live up to the hype under Harbaugh cracks me up. Especially considering all they lost on defense.

Jesus fucking Christ does athlon have a chubby for Harbaugh every year.

I’m not saying that Michigan is going to be terrible this year. But every year they have started them in the top 5 since he got there.

Someone explain this shit

I can't argue, had to look at the date this was posted and make sure it wasn't from last season.

Two playoff wins for the Big 10, one for the PAC, and a fat zero for the Big 12. 15 of the last 16 playoff games won by either Clemson or Alabama, a clear cut above.

I’m looking at some of these SEC West schedules and I mean damn. You got Auburn facing Oregon, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, and Florida.

Hey Jimbo, nice first season at A&M. Your reward is arguably the three best teams in the country in Clemson, Alabama, and Georgia. Then we’ll throw in LSU, Auburn, and South Carolina for good measure. Oh my word. Freaking brutal.

Playing South Carolina is supposed to be part of this super tough Gauntlet? Really?

That’s fair. I’ll give you that. So then it’s just #1 Clemson, #2 Alabama, possible #3 Georgia, possible top 10 Florida, and likely top 20 Auburn. That’s all.

Florida is just as like to be unranked as they are ranked, same goes for Auburn. They do have a tough top end schedule but he knew that when he signed in and that’s why he is one of the top paid coaches in all of sports.

I just realized I forgot possible top 10 LSU as well. I think they miss Florida though.

Jacob Eason is actually pretty phenomenal. He earned his ranking coming out of HS. The only reason he didn't take back the reigns at UGA was you simply can't put a guy on the bench when he's winning every game he plays. Fromm kept the job and Eason got homesick and went back home before he would have won back the job in spring camp last year.

I'm not sure what y'all saw out of Eason, but I was impressed with his arm strength and accuracy when he was a freshman. I expect him to have learned a bit of touch in the last couple of years. I wish him the absolute best now that he gets to play in front of his family for one of the best HCs in the country.

Regarding your first point, I think that Eason has some incredible talent and I can't blame Kirby Smart for sticking with Fromm and Eason for wanting out as a result. Maybe you've read more on it than I have, but I don't think it's about home sickness. He just made the rational decision to transfer to UW because he wouldn't be able to beat out Fromm and he would have also had competition from Justin Fields. Fields is gone now, but at the time it looked like it would be tough for him to get a lot of playing time. Eason is a guy who if he even has a decent season at UW, NFL scouts will fall in love with his arm strength and make him a first or second round pick. He would have been risking NFL money and college playing time by staying at Georgia.

I watched a lot of Eason's plays when he was at Georgia and as I mentioned in another post, he reminds me of a stereotypical big armed QB who struggles at time with accuracy. I've probably made the Matt Stafford comparison more times than I can count, but I believe that to be his ceiling.

Hopefully you're right on him. I just believe there to be some concerns and I always worry a lot. I expect him to be a guy who will make a lot of incredible throws many NFL QBs cannot make, but also miss a lot of throws that most power-5 QBs would make on a routine basis.

These are encouraging words from you and @OldDevilDawg and makes me feel a bit better. You guys watched him every week, I've only seen highlights and what game film I've been able to find for free on Youtube. I've just always held a lot of skepticism when it comes to guys with Eason's skill set.

Thanks for the feedback gents. Best of wishes to you guys and Georgia's program.

Nebraska at #17 is unrealistic. I have a stainless steel colander that has less holes in it than Nebraska's depth chart.
I like the love tho.

Well I'll be damned. A&M and Georgia really are in the same conference. Who knew?
