What will the Astros 2019 starting rotation look like? They'll have Verlander and Cole for sure. But Keuchel and Morton are free agents (although they could obviously re-sign them) and McCullers is out for the year. I think they're more equipped than any other team to lose 3 SP's and replace them. McHugh and/or Peacock could easily slide in the roation and they have prospects that are close to ready and/or have actually already made their debut.
My guess is Collin McHugh slides into the rotation and they put Framber Valdez in there as well. Then they sign one free agent. Whether that be Keuchel/Morton or someone else I'm not sure. Since Whitley is close to being ready I'd guess a short-term commitment to a FA is more likely so Morton might make more since than Keuchel, but they weren't even willing to offer Morton a QO.
