As we evaluate and search for hitting...what do you guys think the average OPS is this year?

No fair looking it up, just saw it on MLB TV

It's lower than I thought. It puts guys like Yaz and Chapman and others in a new light to me.

Doesn't take much to be above average in OPS

Take a guess...

To be clear, league average (not just on the Giants)

.713

Used to be 740ish
I knew it had to be lower because I keep reading about guys who are having average to slightly above average seasons and their OPS surprises me. Remember when .800 seemed like the baseline for good hitters?

Yep. Another reason I’m sure we bring Yaz back and he’s worth the cost

I hope that is how the Giants' brass sees it. Or they at least try to trade him instead of nontendering him.
He’ll be back with us

so we are saying that the Giants above average hitters this year are:

Fitz
Sabol
Ramos
Chapman
LWJ
Carny
Soler
Yaz
Forto
VR
Hill

Reduced to guys who actually are on the roster and could be in 25:

Fitz
Ramos
Chappy
LWJ
Carny
Yaz

Hmmm
