Yeah Cano has been solid, but I went on numbers alone and not on merit. Ian bests Cano in all categories, but has more AB's as well. I wanted guys who got on base. No use having HR guys like Davis if they are going to hit solo HR's.

As for mauer, I admit I'm not up to speed on the DH rules. Does someone have to be an actual DH to play in that role or can they slot any position player there?

What numbers are you looking at?

Cano: 9 HRs, 23 Rs, 25 RBIs, 2 SBs, .301/.345/.552, 1.4 WAR
Kinsler: 7, 22, 20, 3, .304/.368/.506, 1.1 WAR

Cano also has better defensive numbers thus far

While its close across the board, Cano has better numbers in most categories

c-mauer
1b-napoli
2b- cano
ss-elvis
3b-miggy
of-trout
of-adam jones
of-alex rios
dh-encarcion

there is your line-up :thumb:

You had to jump over a whole lot of offensive talented AL 1bmen to make Napoli your sole BOS rep. You make Elvis the TEX rep at SS ... yet Moreland has better OPS and two spots above Napoli.

Agree ... couldn't see any way that Cano wasn't the NYY rep either.

but wanted adam jones...so davis was out...have you read the rules??? couldnt have mitch and elvis

also thought about defense when doing the line-up...OF defense would be very good

had encarcion at 1b but the ballot has him as DH

Adam Jones is overrated, especially defensively

I didn't consider Trout a CFer although since the beginning of May he's only played CF with Bourjos out. Alex Gordon is a great call in LF.

Some awesome roster nominations. This is how I think it ought to be with players nominating three guys per position and fans voting on the players the players nominate. Vote winner gets to start. Manager picks the pitchers.

Need to get the best team on the field if it has a post season impact. Seeing Hamilton on the ballot is a joke.

I kinda did the best 3 OFers within the rules, would've taken Wells over Gordon but had Cano already

Trout is a CFer that happens to play LF b/c they consider Burjos a better CFer, which I don't agree with

Also I consider the DH a position that anyone can fill, whether or not they play there primarily, considering only Berkman, Butler and Ortiz are the only ones who primarily play DH

Interesting topic. Based just on numbers so far this year I would take:
C - Santana
1B - Davis
2B - Cano
SS - Peralta
3B - Longoria
OF - Alex Gordon
OF - Trout
OF - Rios

If i did NL too it would be
C - Molina
1B - Goldschmidt
2B - Ellis
SS - Segura
3B - Sandoval
OF - Choo, Cuddyer, Marte

Might depend where you are looking, Baseball Ref has Kinsler with the higher WAR

WAR would be the only place you would have a discrepancy,

I usually use fangraphs though
Just saying, the 2 a long with PED are really pretty close putting everything into account

The statement was that Kinsler had better numbers, which simply wasn't true

To drop Cano to include Wells was perfectly justified, but don't preface it by saying "Ian bests Cano in all categories"
