I know many Phillies fans don't need to be reminded of this but just so he's not forgotten it was on this date in 1961 Art Mahaffey sets a franchise record when he strikes out 17 batters in the Phillies' 6-0 victory over Chicago. The 23 year-old right-hander whiffs at least one hitter in each inning during the Connie Mack Stadium contest. Some of his victims that day included Don Zimmer and Hall of Famers Ron Santo and Ernie Banks three times each.

By last three years, you must be referring to the 20 games played this year and 2013 and 2012, which is pretty lame because most people would consider the last three seasons 2011-2013, where the Phillies record is easily over .500... before you start talking about the Phillies success, your team should win a championship you cocksucker. You've had over 20 fucking years and a T-Ball field to do it, so don't retort with your expansion team bullshit because it's just a big excuse for sucking for two decades and only producing 7 or 8 genuinely good hitters in your bandbox during that same time period.
