Meteor Crater is about an hour east of Flagstaff off Intersate 40. $9 with a discount and worth the view. It's 4,000 feet across. The result of a 150-foot meteoroid striking the earth at 26,000 mph, 50,000 years ago. A 3-foot, 1800-pound iron chunk of it is on display in the visitor center.
