They've opted to match ridiculous Brooklyn's offer sheet to Crabbe that will pay him nearly $20 million annually, just more than a week after bringing in Evan Turner to a similar deal to play the same position.

Don't see the logic here, especially considering that Moe Harkless and Meyers Leonard are still out there as RFA's for Portland and are in need of a payday.

I don't think the Crabbe signing was so bad. Turner though? No idea what they were thinking in that one. Crabbe is like a poor man's Middleton.

Quite happy that the Nets continue to look like a D League with Lin running the point

Meyers signed for 4y/$41M

Harkless considering taking the 1 year qualifying offer, which would make him a UFA next summer.

Blazers are really, really deep. Potential line up:

PG: Damian Lillard
SG: CJ McCollum/Allen Crabbe
SF: Evan Turner
PF: Al-Farouq Aminu/Ed Davis/Myers Leonard
C: Mason Plumlee/Festus Ezeli

Resign Mo Harkless, and this is an extremely deep team. Not sure how they'll do defensively, but they have the roster construction to play small or big. Extremely versatile line up.

Crabbe isnt near the play middelton is, who is a top 5 SG

I agree. Maybe I should have said he is like a homeless man's Middelton?

Seriously though, he has the sane skill set offensively and is a pretty good defender too. Also, he does not need to have the ball offensively. He plays well off of Lillard and McCollum.

They paid Turner a lot but would it be a bad option for him to come off the bench? I guess like you said they can play a small lineup with Turner at the 3 or Aminu can play the 3. Then they can start Leonard and Plumlee. Leonard is a pretty good stretch 4-5, he can really shoot the ball. $10 mil is good for him. They definitely have some pieces that are versatile.

I personally wouldn't start Turner, but I heard a rumor stating that the Blazers promised him a starting role if he were to sign with them, so that's why I went with that. If they resign Harkless, I'd start him at the 3. Then they could conceivably have Turner, Crabbe and Aminu/Leonard coming off the bench depending if they go small or big. Honestly might have the best rotation 10 in the NBA as far as 1-10.

Really deep but this looks like a perennial 4 or 5 seed.

In the East that's the 2nd best team IMO. In the West I can see that roster being the 3 or 4 seed.

Probably so, now that OKC will be down around 6-7, Portland got better and they were a 5 seed last year.

It's shaping up like this, give or take:

Warriors
Spurs
Clippers
Portland
Memphis
Thunder
Mavs
TWolves/Lakers/Pelicans

Again, give or take.

Looks about where I'd have them stacked up. I'd probably flip the Thunder and Mavs, but it's close. Also, I don't think the Lakers make that big of a jump. I'd have the Jazz definitely ahead of them and the Rockets.

I would have to agree. The Lakers are at least another year away.

I would have focused on Harkless, instead of Crabbe. He could be had for a lot cheaper and Crabbe isn't going to start imo. If they sign Harkless, he'll be 3rd on the depth chart at SF.
