We needed depth at LB.

We needed a slot WR.

We needed to upgrade the G position.

We have done very well in FA. What in the HELL did big names in FA do for us in the past?

I would give us a B- so far. The WR and OG look like good ones and I am guessing the Moss and the LB will be a relative blip on the radar financially. Plus, we resigned Riley to a good contract. End with a good safety and CB, with another starting OL or DL, it would be a very good one.

other then re-signing Riley back and maybe Roberts the team hasn't signed anyone good

What's your definition of good?

We got a WR for a song that is a 50-65 reception a year guy and has blazing speed. Don't think that won't open up things for Garcon and Reed?

We got a big G that has started every game for almost 3 years.

We got a LB that will provide great depth and is a STs standout (did you see our STs last year?).

What were you expecting? That we went the way of Vinny and signed every big name?

Dude.. just stop that. You and I are NOT supposed to agree on any thing. EVER !!!

In all seriousness though, Im quietly liking the fact that we had cap space but didnt come out like a nerdy 18 year old with a hand full of $50s at his first strip club visit. Maybe we FINALLY get it in Washington.

so far we have gone young and cheap . we retained rak and riley (for a great price ) we got a 45-50 catch a year guy and a solid 3 yr starter at OG

so far so good and it looks like snyder is staying out of things

could it be that naive old skinsdad may have been half right ?

Depends. If we finish 3-13 again it will be questioned that we werent aggressive enough. If we finish 6-10, it will still be questioned. In a relatively weak NFCEast, sadly 8-8 is the justification mark.

But you would give us an A+ if we had signed Aqib Talib for 12 mil/season and Jairus Byrd for 9 mil with no more money left.

Right now we get an A for restraint and good deals on young players.

You'll be thankful for this in a couple years when you have enough of a base of a team that a free agent can actually be a deciding factor.

The only thing I would have considered opening up the pocket book for would have been linemen to protect your franchise. Beyond that, intelligent (read:conservative) spending is the only way to turn this team around.

well if we signed big name guys to big ass contracts and finished 3-13 again then we would be hellafucked. i like the quiet approach.
