I was reading a lot a week or so ago about people throwing offer sheets at Shea Weber, then Nashville elected for arbitrtion. Does this mean that he is in-eligible to recieve offer sheets at any point? If so is there still time for teams to elect to go to arbitration(i.e. TB and Stamkos)?

I'm hoping this isn't too common knowledge, I'm just not well versed on contract rules and when I tried to google it the wording was a bit confusing for us non-lawyer types.

correct, it garuntees he will be a predator next year, unless they were to walk away from whatever the arbitrator would award him, but even then, they can still negotiate and may never even make it to arbitration

correct. If a player (or a team) elects arbitration, then no other team can present an offer sheet.
yes, there is still time for other RFA's to go the arbitration route, because the players don't actually become RFA until July 1

Some players who will be RFA's this year are not eligible for arbitration. I don't know them all but I know Doughty is one of those guys.

that would be very good for LA.
Doughty is a cornerstone.

i still dislike Jack Johnson a great deal, though

I felt the same way until I spent an hour with Jack's dad. He talked about Jack taking the coach's comments to heart and spending an extra hour at the rink and an hour at home 6 days a week to better his game. Jack's dad was all set to go golfing and had to wait while the younger Jack spent 1/2 an hour testing sticks to see if he could get more accuracy putting pucks on net. I am sure that many players do the same things but seeing it live with his dad waiting got rid of some of my hate. Then seeing him lose 10000000 pucks at the blue line brought some of it back.
I did not get to met the younger JAck that day.
