Honestly suspected Clemson would beat Bama, but certainly not by such a margin. Lots of factors went into it, including piss-poor defense, questionable play-calling by Saban (run was gashing the Tiger D, so Bama all but abandoned it?), and outstanding play by Clemson on both sides of the ball.

Agreed. Clemson just seemed to have the magic on offense with play calling and some filthy catches. I also liked the idea of fair catching kick offs as when Alabama devours you at the 12 or 15 yard line it gets their defense going... Just great game planning and management by Clemson.

ND and Oklahoma got smoked, OSU beat a top 15 team in a game that wasn't nearly as close as the score indicates. Pretty simple. In 2016 OSU finished 6th after getting smoked by Clemson in the Playoffs, so it's hardly odd, and they had a WAY better resume that year than either ND or Oklahoma did this year.

I think you might be a little too pessimistic. Luke Fickell transition year down? or 9-3.... 10-2? I don't think it'll be fickell year bad, but there could be a couple losses. I'm going with 10-2 with losses to NW & scUM. (they have to win sooner or later, don't they??? lol) I think its actually very possible to go 11-1..... Thinking NW could be our purdue or iowa next year.......

Michigan has some problems. They just finished the year on two bad losses. That is going to have some reverberations into next season, and they've lost a couple of so called good assistant coaches..... and losing a bunch of star players.

PSU is losing McSorley aren't they? I think they will be a little down.

MSU is just broken. The wheels are off that wagon..... unfortunately.... I enjoyed watching them beat the crap out of scUM.

OSU has MSU, Wisconsin, and PSU at home - great for a "down" year.

NW and scUM away.

I'm already looking at the overall picture of the B1G east next year thinking that OSU should probably be going to the B1G CCG again.

I have a few issues here but mostly why is WVU ranked? like at all? 8-4? Lost Bowl game and lost final regular season game? like really? the teams ranked behind them should all be ahead. some of the teams receiving votes should be too.

I'd place ND above Oklahoma. Much better team. As to my Ducks, I think they deserved to be 23-25 in the rankings. A 10-3 season isn't so bad- yes, yes, I know they officially had 4 losses, but the ref that fucked them in the Utah game was suspended for his call that gave the Utes the win. However, a so-so season for them.

Still shaking my head over how Clemson handled Alabama last night. Just never saw that coming.

Fuck that ND hasn't discovered the forward pass yet.

That's a very good question.

They survived the Rose Bowl....they had less passing yards and rushing yards...almost 100 less total yards than Washington had!

Oh.....and they lost to Purdue by 4 TDs!


Yet in the final poll they jump 2 spots?
