I havent been to a Devs game in quite sometime. Just got my tix for next Friday and Im pumped! I was at Stevens and Daneyko night and we won both of those games so def looking for similar results. Also gonna be interesting to see how the Rock handles this kinda ceremony.

Nieds was always my fav guy..never liked the way he leaved but its gonna be nice to see his jersey get raised.

I am going to try. Unfortunately, it will have to be a last minute decision. I know it might be tough getting tickets, but if I can make it that night, I will pay whatever it takes on stubhub.

Yea, I was there for Dano and Stevens. I don't want to miss this. He too was one of my fav players. Not happy he bolted to play with his brother (who ended up coming here go figure), but he deserves it.

Could not be more pissed, my company Christmas party in Nashville is that night. Have to give my tickets away. But hey, I'll just go the next time they retire Niedermayer's number...fuck.

Newark is not an easy place to get to. Even taking the train from NYC I get there at game time so to have this start at 6:40 is absurd. Also, maybe it's because I can't make this, but does anybody else find the date they chose ridiculous? This is a very busy time of year for people and many people are financially strapped this month. Wouldn't a random weekend in February be a better time to try and pack the place?

The start time is stupid...its going to be an embarrassing scene when the building is half full. I do agree too I think doing this later on would be better. Just never understand why the devils do this to their fans

Yeah if you can leave early great...if not your stuck. Just don't see why not make it a saturday night? I found out the reason its so early...because they are doing the ceremony and then doing the pre game warmup. Yikes!

Alot better doing the warm ups, long wait for ceremony to be over, then game. Also, why would it be a problem to leave early if you told your boss enough in advance?

I can only speak for myself but if i was working til 7 I would have to leave work at 5 to make the 645 start. And I'm not that far away. Just make it easier for everyone....make it 730 game starts at 815. Ceremony takes 25 mins

Its tough making the 7 pm game on normal nights. Of course, I am speaking for myself. Problem is, NJ and the tri state area, we work harder and longer hours than the rest of the country. I went to other states. California, they are all done working on fridays at 2 pm. Shit, I am actually working now, just took a few minute break to check out the forum.

I really think that contributes to the problem with attendance in NJ. See, in NY, most of those corporate guys are basically going to the game straight from the office in NYC.
NJ, most fans don't live and work in Newark. For me, its tough leaving the office early. Same goes for many of my friends. Its a lot more laid back in other areas. Thus, its easier to go to games. Look at the midwest for like college football. They take off 3 days for a game. NJ, you can't do that. We are all too busy.

I was always against the move from 7:30 to 7 Pm games by the way. I was able to make a lot more 7:30 games. Yes, that half hour did me justice. Remember, 4:30 til about 6, most roads are jam packed that area.
