I have a confession.... I didn't watch a single game of the WS. Since the last Braves game I've been in full football mode.

But to answer your question, yes, with Houston winning this season and the Cubs previously, it's extremely exciting to see what could potentially happen if the right moves are made during this rebuild.

Only thing that worries me is that them 2 teams wentwith stockpiling Position Players with their rebuilds and we've went with pitching. I hope it works out the same for us, but am still very very excited

The difference is that neither the Cubs or the Astros had to have their GM suddenly resign because of a cheating scandal that could cost us prospects, and now or interim GM, John Hart is running the show, who supposedly hasn't been paying attention for 3 years, otherwise he would have been punished too.

Also the difference is, the Astros and Cubs built up a home grown core, but when it was time to go for it, they opened up the checkbook and traded prospects for proven talent. As long as we're owned by a media conglomerate in Colorado that just sees us as a spreadsheet, I don't look for us to be opening up the checkbook.

Cubs don't win without Jon Lester, Ben Zobrist, John Lackey, Dexter Fowler, Arodis CHapman, etc.

Astros don't win without Justin Verlander, Brian McCann, Yuli Gurriel, Carlos Beltran, Josh Reddick, Charlie Morton, etc

This is the first World Series I've watched in a long, long time. And it was by far the best one I've seen (except 95 of course)

It gives me hope, but I've been saying for years the front office needs to be cleaned out. I'm grateful for what Bobby Cox and JS did for the Braves but the time has come to move on from the 90s Braves' way of doing things.

This is the 21st Century and the Braves are getting left behind. I mean think about it, Bobby retires and we hire a shitty manager basically only because he worked here once before. Then we fire him, and promote our AAA manager as interim (who has been here for God knows how long) and now we continue to retain him.

This is starting to remind me of Alabama after Bear retired (even though it was before time). Alabama couldn't get away from hiring Bear's guys. The Braves seem to be doing the same thing.

God blessed the Braves with an entire 15 year period in which to win as many WS's as possible; y'all had your shot and only won 1, Braves will be doormats for the next generation:dhd:

At least the Reds will be there to keep us company, cause they've been doormats my entire life.

You do you, but personally if I had an intelligence deficit, I wouldn't be putting it on display like that. Especially on a team board.

It was 14 straight NL East titles, dunce.

And that's one more World Series ring than the Red have won or even played for in my life.

Now seriously, this is a team board.
