Anybody done this before?

I've done this every year for the last 5 years just for fun. It started when I was living with my college roommate to see which team would finish with a better record (he as a Seahawks fan and me with the Bears)

I just go into a random room on ESPN and join a draft and draft only Bears players and their defense. So my team is:

Trubisky, Cohen, Montgomery, Robinson, Miller, Burton, Bears D/ST, Gabriel and Piniero. The bench is just their backups.

Best record I ever finished with was 3-11 and that was last year. Worst was 0-14 the year before they drafted Trubisky

I ended up taking the Bears D/ST in the first round because I was worried about some moron taking them in the second round.

Never did it personally, but some dumb, enthusiastic kid in one of our leagues did something similar in the Lovie Smith era. He drafted Forte, Cutler, Brandon Marshall, Jonnie Knox, Greg Olsen and the Bears DST.

I was furious with him figuring it was a recipe for a fantasy disaster. Pretty sure he started out with 3 wins and 2 losses. But then the bottom fell out.

Drafted them all in 1 league last yr, worked out well.

But no, outside of 2-3 guys, I prefer to diversify, and haven't ever tried anything wild like this in a random league.

A guy I used to play in my work league did this with the Steelers.

The problem for him was that he didn’t have a clue about value.

He would take Roethlisberger in the 1st or 2nd round every year, therefor missing their top WRs and RBs.

Naturally, his teams were always awful.

Good work! We'll have to compare how the teams are doing week to week. My college roommate and I would just compare weekly numbers and keep a running total of our record against each other
