So it seems to me the Ridegeline is the truck for people that aren't really truck people. I say this because there are people who need trucks for work, around the ranch or yard people who hunt or pull boats etc. Then there are people like me who on a fairly regular basis have a need for truck but won't really be pulling or towing, etc. Is the Ridgeline the truck for people like me? Do you feel that was the intent of Honda?

Yes, it's a SUV with a functional bed.

Don't own one, test drove one as I considered it. I would say majority of truck owners don't need the truck they have and rarely use it's towing abilities, off road abilities, etc.

At the time I was looking at one we where doing a lot of road trips and Mrs Pnk overpacks, so that solved the issue, it would work great to transport our dogs etc....but we ended up stop doing road trips and I moved on

We do a lot of road trips generally take my Outback. But I have an interest in this I think I too will take a test drive.

The storage is really good, the in bed trunk, the fold down seats in back.

It is a very practical vehicle and they're pretty reliable.

Not greatest on MPG, but they're a lumbering truck, but I like they've stuck with a V6 instead of turbo 4

I believe that the modern Ridgeline will match the towing and hauling performance of most of you mid nineties half ton pick up trucks, maybe even three quarter ton trucks, while riding and handling much nicer with it's front wheel drive SUV chassis. It won't match the performance of todays small trucks, but that's not it's intent.
For those that need to haul more size than weight. The occasional piece of furniture, trash, hiking or camping gear, but not a cord of wood or a yard of crushed stone every week.
